This report analyzes gender influence in communicative development in 8 to 30 months-old Basque children. Here several aspects concerning language skills from 2811 Basque children are examined. Data were collected using the Basque long and short ver-sions (Komunikazioa Garapena Neurtzeko Zerrenda) of the MacArthur-Bates Communica-tive Development Inventories. The results showed that gender differences had weak effect in the age range from 8 to 30 months. However, the effect of age was medium-high. The interaction between gender and age was neither a determinant factor to explain the communicative development. The results justify the reason to calculate both boys’ and girls’ percentiles together for Komunikazio Garapena Neurtzeko Zerrenda.Downloads
