Istripuak, gaixotasunak eta gertaera negatiboak jasateko joera duten pertsonen eta substantzia adiktiboen kontsumitzaileak diren pertsonen nortasunaren profila
Abstract
The tendency to suffer diseases, accidents and negative events, as well as to use addictive substances, is related to personality traits. Thus, the aim of this study was to determine the personality profile of those people with a tendency to suffer diseases, accidents and negative events and also the personality profile of those who use addictive substances. We assessed the links between a person’s such a tendency or substance use and personality traits in a sample composed of 425 Basque-speakers (245 female and 180 male) whose ages ranged from 16 to 60 years. According to our results, people prone to suffer negative events display a profile characterized by higher levels of neuroticism and lower levels of conscience. On the other hand, from our study it may be concluded that users of addictive substances show a profile characterized by higher levels of neuroticism and openness to experience and by lower levels of agreeability.Downloads
