The main objective of this work aims at analyzing the way Disney’s factory reflects reality. This work belongs to the type of studies that are interested in this issue and work on it now. Through its fiction series, presented as teen comedies, Disney shows, under the seemingly innocent purpose of entertaining, consumption forms, ideals of male and female beauty that gradually seep in the collective imagination of the young. The huge success of such a series like Hannah Montana and the myths created by it (Jonas Brothers and Miley Cirus, for instance) is the origin of the pilot research we are conducting at the University of the Basque Country in order to know the impact of its American series among the youngest public in our country. In this article we are presenting the first results concerning the model of the teen woman featured in Disney’s most known series.Downloads
