Abstract

The market value of companies is made up, more and more, of hidden values that we called intangible assets. These intangible assets can be classified in two great groups: a) knowledge assets, that we gather in the concept of “Intellectual Capital” and b) emotional assets, which we gather in the concept of “Emotional Capital”.    The leadership factor appears like a strategic intangible asset in order to impel the development of the “Intellectual Capital” and the “Emotional Capital” in the companies of the third millenium. We describe some of the specific functions of the leader in this background and we anticipate the basic characteristics of the new emergent organizational paradigm, that does not try to be a closed model but a space where a wide range of models fits, being comparable all of them by some common basic dimensions.
