This article’s main objective is to analyze the importance of intonation in the identification of emotions, through perception tests. The analysis has been carried out through delexicalized sentences in languages that are known and unknown to informants. Although many factors play a role in the expression and perception of emotions, only acoustic features will be considered here. On the other hand, we wanted to know what differences exist in some languages and how bilingual Basque speakers notice those differences, even if they do not understand the language. The paper is divided in three parts. In the first part, the acoustic features used in the perception test are presented. The second part shows the results of the perception experiment. Finally, the third part contains a conclusion and proposals for future work.Downloads
