Abstract

The present article summarizes some of the conclusions from research carried out by four Basque professors between 2003 and 2005 regarding the media literacy of Basque teenagers (ages 14-18). In this case, the teenagers’ television viewing habits were specifically analyzed. According to the research group, despite the high degree of television consumption, these teenagers are not able to critically and freely analyze the contents of television programming.
