Abstract

Combining Social Identity’s psychosocial approach (Tajfel 1981, 1982) and the Intergroup Conflict theory (Sherif 1966; Doise 1986; Deutsch 1986), we examine problems about conflicting group membership and contextual identity outstanding (individual vs. social). Basing in these approaches, we stablish some hypothetic sociocognitive process that mediate between the contextual outstanding of different identities and other\'s evaluation in conflicting contexts.
