The socio-labor situation of workers in the Basque Country during the lockdown

This study seeks to analyze the socio-labor situation experienced by workers who worked during the confinement in the Basque Country.For this purpose, social, organisational and individual variables were examined, analyzing the influence of gender, care responsibilities and work modality (telework or face-to-face). 332 employees participated in the study. Descriptive analyzes and ANOVAs were carried out with three fixed factors (work situation x gender x care) with social, organisational and individual variables. The results show that workers worked with economic threat and fear of illness, and developed strategies to cope the situation. In addition, gender, care responsibilities, and work modality conditioned employees’ socio-occupational situation. In the conclusions are identified and discussed areas to be considered to ensure the well-being of employees.
