Abstract

The social sciences must contribute to situating social reality in its historical context and, in a reflexive way, the same analysis must be applied to the concepts that are used to apprehend it. Only in this way is it possible to uncover the naturalist tendencies that are concealed both in social reality and in the world of thought. On he basis of these con- siderations, the aim of this article is to review the meanings and connotations held by the concept of the public space of society, bearing in mind the implication and limits of each conception.
