Abstract

At the beginning of the 1950 decade a new musical genre emerged in the United States which quickly became a worldwide phenomenon: rock and roll. Its transformation into protest-movement which extended over the planet was posible because a lot of artists and groups were influenced by the evolution of the great international events that took place during the Third Industrial Revolution. Precisely, international economic relations have been an influential element for the conversion of rock into a planetary phenomenon, which has served as an expression of social discontent against major international economic events.
