Difficulties can occur when using traditional indicators to dose load intensity in resistance training, requiring alternative methods. This work examines movement velocity as a tool for prescribing load intensity, training volume, assessing neuromuscular performance, and analyzing feedback effects. Movement velocity has proven useful in various ways for load prescription, with both general and individual load–velocity relationships analyzed. Using different percentages of velocity loss to control training volume has demonstrated effective outcomes. Providing feedback after each repetition appears to be the most effective approach. Two methods for assessing neuromuscular performance are also presented. The conclusion highlights that load prescription, control, and evaluation can be improved through movement velocity, making it a valuable tool for coaches. Therefore, it is recommended that coaches incorporate movement velocity into their training practices.
