Abstract

The aim of this article is to examine the effects of physical education (PE) on preschool children with special educational needs through a systematic review. The main results reveal: (i) Regarding motor competence, PE may have a positive effect on children with Down syndrome, developmental delays, motor development, and autism spectrum disorder, but more research is needed in children with hearing impairment; (ii) regarding physical activity, PE allows us to improve the level of physical activity in children with Down syndrome and developmental delays; (iii) regarding cognitive and social skills, although PE has shown an effect, more research is needed to know the effect of PE on cognitive and social skills in children with special needs. Therefore, GH has a direct impact on children with special needs.
