Fobia sozial orokorraren tratamendu psikologikoa esposizioaren bidez: kasu klinikoa
Abstract
The treatment of one social phobia case with exposure is described in this paper. The patient, a 22 year-old single woman, was suffering from heavy social anxiety since adolescence. The treatment was developed in eight clinical group sessions for a period of two months. The exposure treatment involved the sufferer repeteadly confronting the situations that evoke fear for prolonged periods until the distress subsides, and the patient records intra-sessions exposure-tasks as daily homework. Social-skills and assertive strategies were given to the patient. After one year followup the patient had improved a lot, achieving an important reduction in social anxiety and evitation, and an improvement in target problems, assertiveness and global adjustment. The implications of this case for clinical research and practice are discussed.Downloads
