This article analyses the internal coordination of the Social Services System; specifically, the coordination relations between primary and secondary care. It raises the issue of coordination relations, highlighting their importance in the functioning of the system. The analysis, based on secondary sources, without attempting to systematise reality, proposes a theoretical reflection on the subject. The basic concepts are analysed, as well as the main regulations of the Basque Social Services System. Afterwards, possible conditioning variables in coordination relations have been identified, as well as proposals for the future. The theoretical work highlights the need to continue working on stabilising coordination relations in professional practice in order to contribute to the consolidation of the Social Services System.
