This article aims to provide a series of data on the last generation of Vidángoz Basque speakers that preserved the Roncal Valley Basque dialect in the mid-twentieth century. The chronology of the loss and disappearance of the Basque language in the northern towns of the Roncal Valley is well known, because different researchers collected data from the speakers themselves during the second half of the last century, but there is hardly any reference to the most southern villages. These pages bring some news from the testimony and recollections of the current elderly inhabitants of Vidángoz, who came to know the last speakers of the Basque language decades ago.Downloads
