Abstract

This investigation examines what kind of art education is developed in the schools of the Basque Country. To that end, the images present in the textbooks used in art education in Secondary education have been analyzed. The main conclusion is that art education is outdated there, according to the content addressed and to the proposed activities to work with them. Finally, some proposals for the future are outlined related to the framework suggested by the research comming from visual Studies and visual Culture.
