Aeronautics is one of the leading sector that has had the economy in recent years. Various fields are joined there, firtstly, the technology, which varies continuously in the field, secondly, the quality, and finally, safety. It is a highly polarized sector taking into account the producing countries (United States of America, Europe, Canada, Brazil and a few more countries), the existing oligopoly in the production of each aircraft type (Airbus and Boeing in the large-size aircrafts and 15 to 20 producers in the case of medium-size aircraft), and also by the type of product (a few aircraft producers/assemblers, and few engines and landing gears producers). The aircraft sector of the Basque Autonomous Community has come to mean in the past the 25% of the total Spanish State’s production, despite having no producer / assembler of airplanes. This article is based on aircraft production, while the sector also reaches the space sector. The reason for this is that space accounts for 1,5% of turnover of all businesses in the Basque Autonomous Community’s aerospace sector. Consequently, the field that has been worked on is the production of aircraft (structures, systems, engines and equipment).Downloads
