Abstract

In this paper we want to present some new data about doctor Albert Goienetxe, mainly gleaned from Eskualduna weekly. Doctor Goienetxe was the mayor of Saint-Jean-de-Luz for twelve years and, as it was typical at the time between the local elite, he carried out a strong fight against the red Republic, but, at the same time, he worked hardly for a white Basque Country. In fact, as a mayor he became the leader of the foralism defenders, and he made the political, cultural and ideological connections between the North and the South of the Basque Country.
