Gure gaztetxoen gaitasun komunikatiboaren argazkia

Abstract

This article is based in a PhD thesis: “Communicative competence and interlinguistic influence in the plurilingual education of the Basque Autonomous Region” (2007). The main aim of this PhD thesis is to analyze the communicative competence of young people in the Basque Autonomous Region and the intelinguistic influence between euskara, spanish and english. Both areas of interest have been analyzed, taking into account the syllabus followed by students in the education system. Specifically, we are interested in finding out the difference between the early introduction of English both in subjects who are following a syllabus involving linguistic immersion in Euskera, and in subjects who are following a bilingual syllabus which involves maintaining their own minority mother tongue. In this article we´ll show a photograph of the communicative competence of our young people.
