Abstract

Felser (1998) proposed that english Perception Verb Complements are Aspect Phrases headed by -ing morpheme, and that embedded subjects move via raising to matrix object position. In further work, Felser (1999) extended her proposal to some germanic and Romance languages. This paper tries to show that such an analysis accounts for the facts behaved in basque Perception Verb Complements and described in the first part of the paper. On the other hand, we will see that -t(z)en that appears in these structures is an aspect morpheme heading the Aspect Phrase.
