Abstract

A theoretical review of Consequences of child abuse and neglect in equals relationship is carried up in this article. Child abuse and neglect involves serious social and emotional consequences in child’s development. The equals relationship is an uppermost evolutionary achievement with a critical point in its development at around the nursery school period, between 30 months and seven years of age. Researches on equals relationship and child maltreatment have shown that mistreated children are prone to develop misfit relationships with equals. Then again, several studies state that interpersonal relationship problems are associated to antisocial behaviour and psychiatric disorders, along the childhood, adolescence and adulthood.
