Abstract

The aim of this article is to deepen into the discussion about the “Third Sector”. Ater explaining the definition and historic depelopment of the “Third Sector”, the main pro- blems that are seen at this moment are proposed. The risks are, mainly, two: the finan- ciation and the professionalization. Concerning to the financiation, the financiator creates fidelities and dependencies. The professionalization of this organizations foments the laboral precariousness, the bureaucracy and the emergence of a “professional caste”; at the same time, the professionalization breaks the logic of the voluntary work (solidarity and cooperation). Finally, the possibilities and potentialities of the “Third Sector” are mentioned, but always taking into account the problems and risks that have been pointed previously.
