Abstract
In this paper the personality profile in 74 outpatients with eating disorders (17 with restricting anorexia nervosa, 9 with purging anorexia nervosa, 2 with non purging bulimia nervosa, 28 with purging bulimia nervosa and 18 with eating disorder not otherwise specified) was compared. Although 75% of the females showed at least one personality disorder, there were not differences among groups. The most common personality disorders in our sample were passive-aggressive, schizoid and avoidant personality disorders. Finally implications for further research in this area are commented upon.Downloads
