Abstract

In the last years, the main newspapers in the Basque Country have gone through an important renovation process. In the decade of the 70’s many publications still showed an old page-design and used obsolete technology. However, in the 90’s the Basque press began to change profoundly. The new image of El Diario Vasco, El Correo and, above all, Egin could be proof of these news tendencies. The use of news elements, such as color, graphics and new typefaces are some of the characteristics of the modern newspapers.
