Laburpena

Ikerketa historiografikoak Antzinateko emakume nekazariaren irudia baztertzeko joera izan du, neurri batean testigantza zuzenen urritasunagatik. Testuinguru horretan, K.a. I. eta K.o. III. mendeen arteko Egipto erromatarra aparteko eszenatoki gisa agertzen da, kontserbatutako papiroen ugaritasunari esker, batik bat. Hala ere, dokumentu horien azterketa xeheak paradoxa esanguratsua agerira ekartzen du: lurren jabe edo errentatzaile gisa agertzen diren emakumeak ugariak diren bitartean, ia ez dago nekazaritza-lanetan zuzenean parte hartu zutenen ebidentzia espliziturik. Egoera horren aurrean, «isiltasunaren» irakurketa kritikoa ezinbestekoa da, inferentzia kontrolatuez baliatuz eta beste iturri historiko batzuk, ikonografikoak eta literarioak, kasu, alderatuz. Behin betiko erantzunak eskaini baino gehiago, artikulu honek iturrien interpretazio-mugak birpentsatzera eta Antzinateko emakumearen lanari buruzko ideia tradizionalak zalantzan jartzera gonbidatzen du.
