Azken hamarkadotan pornografiaren kontsumoa nabarmen areagotu da, eta kontsumo horretatik erator daitezkeen ondorioek kezka handia eragin dute. Pornografiaren kontsumoak izan ditzakeen efektuak aztertzeko, hura neurtzeko tresna fidagarriak eta baliozkoak ezinbestekoak dira. Irismen-berrikuspen honen helburua da kontsumo hori neurtzeko tresnak identifikatzea eta haien ezaugarri psikometrikoak aztertzea. Ikerlanen bilaketa Inguma, MEDLINE, PSICODOC, PsycInfo, Scopus eta Web of Science Core Collection datu-baseetan egin zen. Guztira 16 tresna barne hartu ziren. Emaitzek adierazten dute: 1) Tresnek, oro har, fidagarritasun- eta baliozkotasun-ebidentzia onargarriak dituztela; 2) Tresna gehienak 18 urtetik gorako laginekin baliozkotu direla; eta 3) Tresna batetik bestera dimentsioen kopurua eta esanahia aldakorra dela. Pornografiaren kontsumoari buruzko definizio operazionalak askotarikoak direnez, etorkizunari begira, konstruktuari buruzko definizio adostu bat eraikitzea beharrezkoa da. Horrek aukera emango du neurketa-tresna zehatzagoak eraikitzeko, bai eta gerora esku-hartze eraginkorragoak diseina-tzeko ere, pornografiaren kontsumoaren ondorioei modu egokiagoan heltze aldera.
