Abstract

This paper describes a validation process which aims at checking if Primary Education students are able to understand mathematical contents using Txikipedia, taking into account both textual content and complementary audiovisual contents. The Txikipedia contents analysed have been created by student teachers enrolled in the Primary Education Degree at Mondragon Unibertsitatea and validated by students from six schools in the Basque Country. Results obtained show that reading Txikipedia contents is helpful for students, although the results relates to audiovisual contents have created new questions. Conclusions reveal that digital humanities can contribute to improving mathematics teaching, both in teacher education and primary education.
