Territories of higher speaker density in minoritised language communities. International conference

This publication originates in the context of the international conference on Territories of Higher Speaker Density in Minoritised Language Communities (Arnasguneak), held in Azpeitia on 16-17 October 2025. The aim of the conference was to examine the importance of territories with a high density of speakers —known as arnasguneak— in the revitalisation processes of minoritised languages, and to share research, experiences and proposals related to this topic.

The texts collected in this volume are based on a selection of the papers and reflections presented at the conference. The aim is not to offer a mere transcription of the event, but rather to present in a structured way the ideas and discussions that emerged there, making them accessible to a wider academic and social audience.
