What is the current nursing situation?

Abstract

Nursing has undergone significant changes in recent years due to advancements in studies, changes in prescription laws, and the global Nursing Now campaign. With these new developments, it's important to examine the employment status of nurses and research output in our region. This article will present data on the employment rates of nurses in the Basque Country and the overall state using information from the National Statistical Institute and Lanbide. Additionally, it will provide insights into nursing research output based on an international bibliometric study and the latest Ikerbasque report. The distribution of nurses across different levels of care, as recorded by the National Health System, will also be outlined, along with an analysis of working conditions.
