Abstract

Reuse of cardiac implantable electronic devices has been successful in many small-scale missions in Low- and Middle-Income Countries. Previous studies have described that the vast majority of patients, physicians and funeral directors in the United States and potential recipients in Low- and Middle-Income Countries support device donation. Although there is a potential possibility of implementing donation programme in Spain, there is currently no data available of local patients' views about these aspects. This study aimed to describe the knowledge, preferences of post-explant management and opinions towards device donation of patients with cardiac implantable electronic devices.
