Limbo (2010) is an independent video game developed by Playdead. This work, through a vague narrative, dark and monochromatic atmosphere, and simple but significant structures and mechanics, has gained success and interest in an independent field. Analyzing the relationship between narrative and gameplay, death has been identified as the main concept. The most important elements (story, setting, game mechanics, characters) have been designed around this concept, creating an atypical video game between the platforming and the puzzle genre. It may be concluded that it takes the foundations of these two genres and redefines them.
