Easy-to-Read Language: baliabide linguistikoen eta testuen egokitzapena eta tresna automatikoen garapena

Abstract

Access to information, knowledge and culture is a right of all citizens. However, written text does not always match our ability to understand what we read. Easy to Read Language (E2R) aims to overcome these comprehension barriers, thus promoting equal opportunities. E2R contains a set of rules that may vary by language, and may also include examples, visual and/or auditory aids not found in the source text. Unfortunately, there are not many language resources or adaptation tools available for E2R. This thesis aims to evaluate existing resources for automatic E2R adaptation and to create new resources and adaptation tools. It will focus on three European languages: German, Spanish and Basque.
