This paper aims to be an introduction to the analysis of the social and commercial relationships of Basque merchants using the Social Network Analysis (SNA) methodology and present the benefit and the weak points it has. These merchants, both bystander and resident, use the cohesive and cooperative networks to promoted their economic and social growth in the dynamic commercial centre of Seville in the Early Modern Period. For this reason, in this current exposition we are going to analyse the benefit of visualising trade networks through a SNA methodology, how and why these unions are formed and the creation of spaces of power, action and common survival strategies will be analysed.
