Tocilizumab can be useful to treat giant cell arteritis combined with prednisone

Abstract

Tocilizumab combined with prednisone was superior to prednisone and placebo with regard to sustained glucocorticoid-free remission: 56% with weekly tocilizumab and prednisone (26 weeks); 53% with biweekly tocilizumab and prednisone (26 weeks); 18% with prednisone and placebo (52 weeks) and %14 with prednisone and placebo (26 weeks).
