This paper presents the design, implementation, and characterization of a subsampling-based measurement system capable of simultaneously measuring high-frequency signals up to 18 GHz. The system is applied to analyze the plasma signals of an ion source, focusing on the reflection coefficient and the spectral analysis of the reflected signals. The results show significant changes in the interaction between the plasma and the electromagnetic wave inside the ion source, depending on the radio frequency signal’s frequency and power, as well as the gas flow rate. These changes are reflected in abrupt jumps in the reflection coefficient, which correlate with the plasma’s luminosity and physical state.
