The use of small and specialized systems has increased in the last decades, leading to the control of most of the devices in our every day life. As most of those devices can be controlled through the internet the devices get exposed to a lot of attackers, leading to concerns in the privacy and security communities. Additionally, a lot of these devices use proprietary hardware IP and SDKs, leading to less control and customizability in the hands of the developers. This paper describes the development of a software stack designed to provide a great development platform for embedded applications employing the open RISC-V ecosystem and a custom lightweight operating system.
