Among the strategies for treating atherosclerosis, the use of lipidic nanoparticles has gained significant attention. This study investigates the ability of rHDL and LNP nanoparticles, which resemble nascent HDL, to dissolve cholesterol crystals and their effect on the inflammatory response. Biophysical characterization of the nanoparticles confirmed their homogeneous and stable structure. Furthermore, in vitro results demonstrated that these nanoparticles effectively dissolve cholesterol crystals and significantly reduce inflammatory markers in J774A.1 macrophages. Consequently, these nanoparticles could represent an innovative therapeutic strategy for the treatment of atherosclerosis.
