Abstract

This study analyzed the relationship between heart rate (HR) and competitive anxiety in amateur padel players, considering playing level, court position, and training frequency. Forty-three players participated. No significant differences were found in HR average or maximum between groups. However, HR maximum was associated with somatic anxiety in intermediate-level players and with selfconfidence in those training 1-2 days per week. Additionally, higher-level players showed a moderate correlation between HR average and somatic anxiety. These findings suggest an interaction between physiological and psychological responses in competition.
