In order to satisfy the current need to get energy via renawable sources, developing the generation of eolic energy is key, since the conditions of the offshore wind turbines are optimal to produce large amounts of energy. As part of the KONFLOT project, whose main objetive is to develop a control co-design methodology for floating offshore wind turbines, the options regarding control design for wind turbines have been studied. To fulfill such task, softwares that are useful to simulate the dinamics of floating offshore wind turbins have been used, basing the control of the machine in the resolution of an predictive control (NMPC) problem for the pitch angles of the rotor blades. The advantages offered by different configurations and control techniques have been analyzed, in order to define the foundations to future more sophisticated techniques.
