This paper analyses the immersion cooling system, based on the phase change of the fluid, known as pool boiling, for its higher heat capacity compared to the conventional air-cooled system. This type of system is used in data centres or in the batteries of electric cars. The pool boiling curves describing this phenomenon have been characterised by analysing a polished copper surface at atmospheric pressure. The behaviour of the dielectric liquid Novec -7000 has been analysed using a set-up designed for this purpose. From the results obtained, the evolution of the boiling surface temperature with respect to the heat flux has been studied.
