Abstract

Nuclear fusion is proposed as an option to deal with the current energy situation, for which the theoretical models presented so far must be validated. This represents a great technological challenge, material analysis being one of them. Inside a fusion reactor, the materials will be exposed to extreme conditions that have never been demonstrated, which is why the usefulness of all these materials will be demonstrated in ITER. Before proving it in ITER, a thorough characterization of all materials is necessary, for which the analysis of some of these materials will be carried out in the UPV/EHU fusion materials laboratory.
