One of the main lines of nuclear fusion research focuses on the characterisation of the materials that will make up the reactors and the study of their interaction with hydrogen isotopes. For reasons of safety and feasibility, it is of interest to be able to carry out the experimental tests required only with protium and extrapolating the results to deuterium and tritium. For years, the classical theory that relates diffusivities as inversely proportional to atomic masses has been assumed to be corrrect. However, this ratio does not seem to be fulfilled and therefore the corresponding study is proposed in the FML, with the aim of analysing the correct isotope effect. As a result, it has been confirmed that theoretical and experimental data do not match.
