Mammals undergo physiological changes from birth, and their diet varies at different stages of life. This work aims at studying the influence of the development on the diet composition of three horseshoe bats in the Basque Country. Three were the objectives: (1) studying the patterns of development of each species; (2) studying the diet changes along the development of each species; and (3) comparing the diets of the juveniles of the three species. Results show that each species has a different physical development, and they follow diverse dietary patterns. Despite their high specialization, juveniles’ diets are more similar. Therefore, while learning constrains diet in some species, specialization precedes foraging in others.
