Abstract

The aim of this work is to provide pediatricians working in primary care with basic key points and guidelines for the detection and management of Developmental Language Disorder (DLD). To this end, different aspects of language will first be explained. Next, atypical language development will be addressed, as it is important to understand its relationship with DLD. Finally, Developmental Language Disorder will be explored in depth: what it is, what resources are available for pediatricians to detect it, and, lastly, what responses can be provided within this context.
