Abstract
The attention economy relies on keeping users engaged with screens to gather and monetize their personal data. This article examines how this dynamic particularly impacts adolescents, who are especially vulnerable due to their ongoing emotional and neurological development. Recent studies highlighting negative mental health consequences linked to early and prolonged digital exposure, such as increased anxiety, depression, and risky behaviors, are reviewed. Practical recommendations for families, schools, and policymakers are proposed to mitigate these impacts.
