Abstract
Dementia is the result of the interaction between multiple factors, some of which can be modifiable and susceptible to intervention. So, one third of cases of dementia could be prevented. The FINGER study showed that multi-domain intervention on risk factors and healthy living habits was effective in preventing cognitive impairment. The pilot study carried out jointly by CITA-Alzheimer and the QUALIKER group of the UPV/EHU, the GOIZ ZAINDU study, has shown that the FINGER methodology can be applied to the Basque sociocultural environment, justifying that an investigation of these characteristics can be carried out on a larger scale: CITA GO-ON study. The work presented is part of this study.
